Ok, for serious. What happened to free enterprise in America!? All the sudden all the presidential candidates are all talking about how the government needs to get involved in the economy..... but in all seriousness, why?! Fannie May and Freddie Mack are one of the biggest reasons for this economic mess, and that's because the government "encouraged" them to give out bad loans. So, in all seriousness, I would prefer if we bailed on this bailout and let free enterprise let it work itself out, cause I'm pretty sure that, if anything, will get us out this mess the most quickly.

Agree? Disagree? Your thoughts?

In all truth, there is no "quick fix" for what is happening right now. And for all we know, it could be SEVERAL MONTHS/YEARS before the economy is turned around. This is a "market Crash" though I think its more of a market failure.

However, I don't think that "free enterprise" is EVER the right way to go. The big problem with that is then there would be no regulations that stop companies from making bad products, from keeping work places safe, or other things as well that would doom the workers of this nation as much as they are now. It would be another pickle.

This means, basically the only real way to fix the economy is to have some government and some free enterprise. Not full free enterprise because it has a tendecy to treat the average joe like a piece of crap or complete socialism which does the same. Meaning, that the real solution, for now, is for there to be a balance of both free enterprise and socialism because they are almost like two sides of the same coin.

Ummmz, isn't that what the legal system is for? The only way to sell a "bad product" is false advertising (cause who would buy a product advertised as a bad product) , which is against the law, and I'm pretty sure there are law requirements on the treatment of employs and a safe condition of the work place. So, to me, I don't think the government needs to be involved in business for business to be regulated correctly, they just need to uphold the legal system.
