Right, since we are all on vacation and obviously too busy living EXTREME LIVES to hang around here, I figure we can all post what were doing in this thread rather than have 18+ threads dedicated to the same thing.

I'll start. Some of you here know that my dad had surgery on his back last week. In any case we've been spending time taking care of him as he recovers and doing a *Navi* ton of baking. Perhaps I'll post pictures later.

Alright, someone else go.

I, good sir, plan to stay in, most likely alone, to listen to Danse Macabre and read Forever Forgotten. I may also do non-trad, but I'm considering doubling up on the day before.

Staying at home, doing nothing. As always. Might listen to some Danse Macabre, play a little Guitar Hero and some Fallout 3...a bit of TF2...

I'll be hangin' with this A.P. stuff (Yah! Break homework! Controversial Break Homework!) And being sick. :D So, if you were wondering where in heck I've disappeared to, its not so much that I've got stuff to do away from home, I've got it going on here. In this 'ld house in 'Might as well be Canada cuz that's what Congress thinks it is'-land. :P

Well, I'll outline my plan for this wonderful, beautiful week which just started out by dumping 30 CM of snow outside accompanied by high winds. Yes.

Actually, screw the outline because I'm doing absolutely nothing other than... damnit, here's an outline:

1. Christmas cooking, I'm not REALLY doing the cooking but I'm the ingredients boy around this place since my sister has been like a dead, cranky lump for the last 14 years of her life. (:D)

2. Writing Forever Forgotten (while listening to Danse Macabre, which I think I should right now.) Obviously I've been taking forever and a day to do this thing among final essays, projects, lack of ambition, restarts on parts I tried to write, and being clogged with awkward questions. It's the Christmas present, believe me, I have written myself a death warrant if it isn't up the 24th or 25th.

3. And then finally comes Christmas Eve. The plan there is to do some last minute shopping in Woodstock, pick up my brother around 4:30, go home and begin wrapping presents like crazy (family tradition: procrastinate wrapping the presents until the last possible moment and then swear, swear, swear ;P) After that we'll be travelling UP the wonderful East Coldstream road to spend a better part of the evening at my grandmother's on my father's side.

Enticing.

4. Wake up at 6 AM the following morning. You get the picture. After all that is done we travel to the wilds of Greenfield to spend the day at my grandmother's on my mother's side, like we have for the last 17 years.

Whoo, Christmas.

1. Steam
2. Steam
3. Write "The Night Before EDN Christmas"
4. Work on a radio broadcast (Don't get your hopes up. It's a terrible and difficult thing to do. :/)
5. Open Presents
6. maybe show up for work. (See items 1 and 2)

Pretty much the same as LiD, only substitute 3, 4 and 6 for programming.

Well, I was going to make a poll for this, but this thread was designed for the entire Christmas discussion...so.

Given that it is the 23rd, what day do you usually open your gifts?

1) When you get them
2) Before the 24th
3) The 24th
4) The 25th
5) The 26th, after you buy all the cheaper stuff on Boxing Day
6) I don't have gifts because I'm stone cold.

I'm #3 btw.

#4...though, once we had to do it like a week before because we weren't going to be here for Christmas...but, rather than that, we've always done it the Christmas day.

We unwrap one (from the same people every year) on Christmas Eve then we open the rest the 25th before the sun even THINKS about coming over the horizon. <_<

25th is tradition. However, I'm typing on my Dad's early Christmas gift a la myself.
