I think I say everything normal now, but this is how I used to say things:

Kokiri: Ko-kor-y
Farore- Fro-roh

And I know how Deku is pronounced, but I still say Dee-Ku. haha! MY brother calls it "Doo-ku"

I dunno, it might have been my half-phonetic education speaking, but I always said...
"Stal-foess" not foes...
And I said Cook-oh...
Ee-poan-uh...
I started saying Koh-May recently, because I thought saying "Koom" was just ridiculous...
I also said Goht like "got" and...Did you just tell us how to say bottle? :lol:
I also said Loach the way it's phonetically spelled.

I always said KakaREEko and KoKEEree. When I first played Ocarina of Time, those names always tripped me up.

Deh-koo
Fah-roar
KAH-kuh-REE-koh
Koh-KEE-ree
Koh-TAH-kay
KOO-May or KOH-may (works either way for me)
Koo-koh
Eeh-lee-uh
HIGH-rule (I put more emphasis on the "Hy" than some)

It makes me angry when people say "Duku" or "Deeku". It's obviously "Dehku". I'm not sure whether it's Ohhcarina or Awcarina, I always grew up where everyone said it with a long "O", but I find that the short O sound is more popular. I usually say long when i'm referring to the instrument itself, but when I refer to the game I tend to say short O because that's what i normally hear. And i don't know why people would say it's not Hie-Lee-An, It's obviously HIE-rule, why would it be Hih-Lee-An. For most pronunciations though, it seems impossible to know the true way to pronounce it without consulting the people who made the game. Maybe we should all pitch in to send an email asking for pronunciations on all our terms?

I pronounce deku deh-ku ocarina ohkah-ree-nah and Hylain hie-layin. also asking the makers would be kind of pointless seeing as the japanese pronunciation would be different in several circumstances cause of limits with some letters like L or V.
thought many zelda names are based of japanese words like in boko baba boko is a way of saying wood, and with some made up names it should be safe to go with the japanese pronunciation wich is very clear withing it's own structure unlike the english language.

I NEVER understood anyone who said "dookoo". How on earth do people see an E in a word and go, "Oh snap, it must be an abbreviation for two O's!"

Typing likoo an oo is actually two O's is just ridiculous. If I usoo oonough words with oonough oo's, it boocomoos hard to undoortstand what I mooan. See? Makes no sense.

Kokiri = Koh-kee-ree

Deku = Day-koo

I've heard many people say it like this and it kinda sounds right. :up:

To settle this one and for all D:

Ghirahim: Gear-Uh-heem ... or Gear-uh-him, but I usually find myself saying the first :p

No, it's more like: Ghea-ra-him. 'Gh' is pronounced a little like 'q' (but not exactly...) in Arabic and I use that pronunciation rule when saying his name...because I'm just that cool. 8D

I noticed that higher on this page there were a couple of odd pronunciations for koume and kotake, I'm pretty sure those are both Japanese words and should be pronounced Ko oo meh and ko tah keh respectively.
